I moved over from a pair of incredibly light (1 lb!) crutches and went with the carbon fiber version of ErgoBaum because I was concerned about the weight difference. The carbon fiber makes it a pound lighter than the standard one, I believe, so I felt ok going with a crutch that was not quite 3 pounds. I absolutely have no idea how I managed without the shock absorbers before! These take so much of the jarring pain away that I used to have with each step. I switched to the ergo-lite tips because the factory ones were heavy. That made a significant difference for me. The flashlight is a great addition that I use frequently. Very glad to have a forearm strap and the padded elbow rest as well.
Things that I want improved:
-I would like the odd lump removed from the top of the grip.
-I would like it shipped with the lite tips. The other ones are twice as heavy.
-the horn/alert is very quiet and not very useful
-it’s very easy to bump the switch and turn the light on. Maybe incorporate it into the end of the grip
-it could be even lighter (bit top heavy) if the grip and elbow pad were carbon fiber as well.
None of these are deal-breakers for me. I would buy these again. Nothing else I’ve seen compares with these.
