Breast Reconstruction Awareness Education Evening
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month - a campaign to help raise awareness and improve early detection of breast cancer, which will impact one in nine women in New Zealand in their lifetime.
As part of this crucial work, the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation recently hosted a Breast Reconstruction Awareness Education Evening, to share information and different treatment for breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery.
Our Director, Ben Fraser, attended this event to showcase our range of Scar and Wound Care products, which have been shown to aid in the recovery from surgeries and procedures related to breast cancer.

Melanoma Awareness Week |

As well as October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, last week was also Melanoma Awareness Week in New Zealand.
Every year, more than 6,000 kiwis are diagnosed with melanoma - making it the third most common cancer for men and women in New Zealand. Melanoma also accounts for nearly 80% of all skin cancer deaths - unfortunately, over 350 Kiwis die of melanoma every year.
The good news is that regular daily use of SPF 15 sunscreen can reduce your risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) by about 40 percent, and lower your melanoma risk by 50 percent.
